The Peat Tractor Operator is a full-time seasonal position located in Ramsay Pt. Bog.

Qualifications:

• Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience Required: Two years of experience operating a tractor and performing minor maintenance
• Ability to work as a part of a small team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Mechanical aptitude
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

 Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery such as a tractor with a vacuum harvester or harrows
• Ensure that machinery, equipment and tools are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance (i.e. greasing tractor) and cleaning the machinery and equipment.
• Willingness to train and perform duties in the plant when bog operations are suspended due to weather conditions. This includes:
  • Maintaining facilities including sweeping and shoveling peat moss off plant floor and lawn care – mowing and trimming grass
  • Assisting in tarping peat piles
  • Working on additive line to prepare and package including handling bags of raw materials (fertilizer, perlite, lime)

Terms of Employment:

• Seasonal (May  – October)
• Full-Time – 7-12 hours/day
• 40-70 Hours/week
• Early Mornings/Morning/Day/Evenings/Weekend shifts
