Role: Director of Finance & Corporate Controller
Location: Fully onsite – Mississauga, Ontario
Travel: 10–15% within Canada and the U.S.
Compensation Range: $165,000

Job Summary:
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance and Corporate Controller is a highly visible leadership role and a key contributor to the day-to-day operations of the accounting team. This position is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting under IFRS, budgeting, internal controls, financial planning and analysis, and preparing reporting packages for senior leadership, the board, audit committee, and pension governance committee.
The role oversees financial accounting operations, supports external audits, and manages tax compliance, treasury, pension governance, and finance systems improvements.

Job Responsibilities:
Lead short- and long-term planning and the overall management of the accounting team
Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the CFO and CEO
Lead or support tax-driven organizational and legal entity restructuring initiatives
Develop and implement transfer pricing models for cross-border intercompany sales (Canada/US, US/Mexico)
Lead or support the integration of acquisitions
Lead or participate in ERP implementation projects and future system upgrades
Analyze financial results and prepare reports for executive leadership and the board
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including reviewing reconciliations and P&L analysis
Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
Manage the year-end audit process—review reconciliations, audit schedules, and final adjustments
Coordinate with external auditors and ensure all audit requirements are met
Provide coaching to accounting staff and oversee AP, payment, and payroll processes
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement approved changes
Establish departmental goals that align with company objectives and monitor team performance
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate accounting, payroll, and AP team members
Ensure departmental milestones and goals are achieved and align with approved budgets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain strong internal partnerships

Education and Experience:
CPA designation required, with public accounting experience strongly preferred
8–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements for Canadian and U.S. entities
Prior leadership experience managing teams
Experience with treasury and pension governance functions preferred
