GENERAL SUMMARY:
  • Production Operators primary roles at the plant are:
    • Operate FFS equipment in accordance with weekly schedule and budgeted run rates.
    • Aide Maintenance team in planning the necessary repairs of mobile and manufacturing equipment.
    • Understand and assist in inventory management and reporting.
  • The Hamer FFS operator will work closely with the Production Manager to produce finished goods in accordance with the schedule.
  • Coordinate with Quality Technician to ensure all finished materials meet the company standard of perfect bags and pallet.
  • Routinely check both mobile equipment and manufacturing equipment to ensure they are both safe to operate and well maintained for efficiency and longevity of the machine.
This position will be responsible for reporting usage of raw materials that is consistent with actual consumption, therefore making the operator a key team member in the reporting and tracking of raw material inventories.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Inspect and notate all safety/performance points of rolling stock, Hamer FFS bagger, palletizer, and stretch wrapper.
  • Use forklift to handle and stage packaging needed for production.
  • Use forklift to handle and dispose trash and reclaimed product.
  • Effectivity operate FFS bagger, palletizer, and wrapper according to SOP associated with machines. 
  • Responsible for start-up and shut-down of machines also in accordance with SOP’s.
Work constantly with Quality technician to ensure product meets quality standards throughout the day.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Production equipment background.
  • Understanding of SOP’s, safety procedures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Comprehension of production based, performance measuring metrics.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Capable of operating in a fast-paced environment for long periods at a time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma
  • Production experience preferred.
  • Automated machine operating experience preferred.
