Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for scheduling trucks for the delivery of products within a specified territory to customers. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with trucking companies, transportation providers, and logistics partners to ensure efficient operations and achieve business goals. The position requires coordinating shipments, negotiating rates, monitoring deliveries, and communicating effectively with customers and internal teams.

Job Responsibilities:
- Work with independent carriers to haul and deliver products within an assigned geographic territory
- Schedule full truckload shipments for pickup and delivery (approximately 75–100 loads per week)
- Search for, identify, and negotiate rates with independent carriers while controlling costs
- Negotiate rates with existing carriers and brokers for same-day loads and future capacity needs
- Communicate detailed load information via phone, email, customer websites, or electronic systems
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery; address any issues proactively
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with new and existing carriers
- Communicate professionally with customers, operations personnel, and executive management
- Warehouse and outdoor yard environment
Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated individual capable of booking 20+ loads per day consistently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and partners
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Ability to manage complex or high-pressure customer situations professionally
- Advanced Excel and data management skills
- 1+ years of freight booking experience in a transportation or trucking environment
- Experience negotiating and booking truckload freight
- Knowledge of freight operations and DOT rules and regulations
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics preferred
