Job Summary:
The Marketing Project Coordinator will oversee the end-to-end process of managing flexible packaging moving from stage gate/ideation to finished goods. This role involves close collaboration with sales, marketing, purchasing, external packaging vendors, operations, finance, regulatory, graphics specialists, production planners, and the portfolio manager. The primary objective is to ensure efficient tracking and management of packaging inventory, sales forecasting, and SKU rationalization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Workflow Management:
- Develop and implement efficient workflows for tracking packaging materials.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth transitions from raw material to finished goods.
2. Inventory Tracking:
- Monitor on-hand inventory levels of packaging materials.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory records for finished goods and raw materials related to packaging.
- Work closely with purchasing and production planners, to formulate timing of inventory runouts and replenishment timelines.
3. Sales Forecasting:
- Collaborate with sales and product/brand managers to develop accurate sales forecasts for packaging needs.
- Adjust inventory levels based on forecasted demand.
4. SKU Rationalization:
- Analyze current SKUs to identify opportunities for rationalization.
- Implement strategies to streamline SKU offerings and reduce redundancy.
5. Vendor Management:
- Maintain relationships with external packaging vendors.
- Ensure most current packaging is in the queue.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all packaging materials meet regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and implement necessary changes.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance to manage packaging costs and budgeting.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure efficient production processes.
- Liaise with the portfolio manager to align packaging needs with product offerings.
8. Marketing Agency:
- Work closely with external agencies to effectively manage packaging changes, ensure proper files are in place, and maintain their current status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field or five years of experience.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in packaging or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to packaging in the horticultural industry.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint (workflows), One Drive, and MS Teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to vendor sites and company locations.
- May involve occasional lifting.
