Job Summary:
Reporting to plant leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of all process equipment throughout the plant, supervising and supporting teams to develop continuous improvement and safety performance programs. This role ensures equipment reliability, employee safety, and optimal plant performance.
Compensation:
$90,000 annually

Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to all maintenance teams to support safety, reliability, and business goals
Ensure all employees work safely and support corporate safety objectives
Provide resources and guidance to staff to achieve safety and operational goals
Monitor, audit, and evaluate safety performance at all operations
Communicate health and safety importance to employees, contractors, and visitors
Design and lead long-term improvement plans for the facilities
Monitor performance and effectiveness of all operations
Manage company assets effectively, including plant equipment and inventories
Support employee development, succession planning, and team coaching
Develop standard work procedures, job skills, and problem-solving capabilities among staff
Ensure optimal maintenance of plant equipment and recommend approved capital projects
Drive LEAN manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and plant leadership to meet operational goals
Analyze causes and effects of equipment or process issues and implement solutions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong planning, organization, and ability to monitor multiple priorities
Ability to establish and meet schedules, deadlines, and quotas
Strong decision-making skills with a focus on process improvement
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with plant equipment
Ability to work effectively in stressful environments
Knowledge of safety programs and implementation
Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and ability to mentor teams
Strong communication, writing, and facilitation skills
Ability to coach, train, and develop team members
Education and Experience:
Trade background is an asset
Certification in First Aid, WHMIS, and Hazard Identification
Supervisory experience in a plant or production environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, front-end systems, and QC systems
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of walking, sitting, standing, and lifting
Ability to travel over various terrains within the Western Region
Occasional climbing, stooping, and bending
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
Typical of a production facility with increased dust and noise levels
