Maintenance Coordinator
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Lead will work as a team member in maintaining production line equipment and rolling stock. Some examples are Loaders and Lift Trucks, PLC, mechanical, electric motors and controls, hydraulic, conveyor and pneumatic equipment. Performance of preventive maintenance is key, yet able to respond, troubleshoot and repair in a timely manner when needed. Repair, install and troubleshoot using diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, and employ outside vendors as needed. Knowledge and safe use tools and instruments.
This is a full time position. Standard hours are Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assign work as required and ensure that the work is completed.
- Train and mentor Maintenance Tech, if applicable.
- Participate in interview process for Maintenance Tech openings, if applicable
- Follow all plant safety practices, procedures, and programs.
- Communicate and schedule maintenance with Production and Shipping personnel
- Use of Maintenance Work Order System.
- Document work performed, tracking hours
- Identify required parts, supplies coordinate with purchasing
- Rebuild and modify plant systems, individual equipment as needed.
- Welding and basic pipefitting
- Safety Awareness and hazard identification, employing corporate procedures
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs as may be needed
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services
- Participate in and complete special projects and other duties as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED from accredited organization
- Post-secondary education/training
- 5 years of industrial mechanical experience
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience
- 3+ years of work experience in a production plant environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Typical plant work environment, noise level is moderate to loud. Must be able to navigate plant site including climbing stairs, reaching for product, traveling over changing terrain. Exposed to weather conditions, regularly. Exposure to soil-less media, occasional dust grease, oil and soil amendments, will occur.
- Required PPE includes but is not limited to hardhat, safety vest, steel toe shoes and protective eyewear (may change with the work being performed).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Using maintenance equipment (hand tools, power tools, industrial vehicles)
- Lifting requirements generally under 45-50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb industrial ladders.
- Periodically walk, stand, kneel, bend, stretch, lay
- At times, work may require awkward positions for prolonged periods of time.
