 Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analysis skills, expertise in ERP systems, and proficiency with various financial software to support strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge business intelligence tools, manage complex data sets, and contribute to the financial health of our organization. Strong communication skills are preferred to facilitate collaboration across diverse teams. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in budgeting, investment analysis, and financial reporting within a fast-paced environment.

This is a fully onsite role in Mississauga.

Compensation Range - $70,000-$90,000

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the acquisition, recording, and reporting of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, month-end accruals, and periodic physical asset counts
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for fixed asset acquisitions, depreciation, month-end accruals, and physical asset inventories in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage lease accounting activities, including lease recognition, recording, reporting, amortization, interest expense, month-end accruals, and periodic lease reviews in compliance with accounting standards
  • Own financial reporting, recording of, reporting, and forecasting related to capital assets, capital expenditures (Capex), and lease accounting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial records, including month end entries, reconciliation and period close.
  • Partner with operational and functional leaders to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses to support management and business decision-making
  • Assist the Director of Accounting in preparing responses to IA audit report comments and findings and follow up about their completion with different team
  • Assist in preparation of paperwork for corporate income taxes related to Canadian entities. Complete monthly sales tax return filing for Canadian business and do sales tax reconciliation
  • Partner with operational and functional leaders to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
  • Collaborate with Accounting, AP, AR, and FP&A teams to ensure alignment between operational results and financial reporting
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by senior management

Education and other required

  • CPA preferred
  • Canadian citizen
  • Travel when required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced financial modeling, excel and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Dynamic Business Central ERP knowledge is an asset
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and fact-based decision-making approach
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP and BI tools is an asset
  • Strong execution and accountability skills, monitoring progress against goals while coordinating efforts across teams and functions
